The Shared Collective Wisdom Confest will be held at the Ross River Resort in the Eastern MacDonnell Ranges.
The Central Australian desert is a place of extremes. Be prepared for all types of weather, from hot sunny days to freezing nights and everything in-between. Suggested items to bring include a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, water bottle and insect repellant. Also, warm clothing, beanie, gloves and even a hot-water bottle.
There are no EFPOS facilities or ATMs available at the Confest. All transactions will need to be in cash. A list of ATMs in Alice Springs can be found [LINK]
There is no 3G service at Ross river and internet is very limited.
First aid will be available onsite
There are no pets allowed at SCW
Alcohol & illegal substances
The Confest is strictly drug and alcohol free.
The smoking of tobacco will be allowed in selected areas. Bins will be provided for cigarette butts.
Campfire & generators
Fires can be in designated areas only. Fires pose a bushfire risk as the surrounding bush is very dry.
No generators due to noise pollution.
Sharing Collective Wisdom policy is ‘leave no footprint’. To minimise rubbish all items brought in must be taken out again. We encourage the use of re-usable drinking containers. All foods and beverages sold at SCW will be on/in non-disposable, environmentally friendly packaging. Plastic bags will not be provided at the market stalls.
