Sharing Collective Wisdom

Sharing Collective Wisdom is a celebration and bringing together of collective wisdom.

Situated at Ross River Resort in the Eastern MacDonnell Ranges (approx. 80km from Alice Springs), this is an all-inclusive opportunity to connect, learn, share, celebrate and practice the skills of staying centred in an ever challenging world.

Sharing Collective Wisdom came from Swami Kalikamurti’s idea to honour the 40 year gift that yoga and her teachers have given her.

In Central Australia there has always been a strong yoga community and currently you can probably find between 9-12 classes of yoga being taught each week. We also live on the oldest land mass in the world and in partnership with the oldest living culture in the world. Buddhism and mindfulness as a practice also have strong followings with the Gyuto Monks as well as other Master teachers visiting Alice Springs often.

In our work at Centred in Choice we work with many Aboriginal organisations who wish to work and live two ways, that is, with both cultures walking side by side together, embracing the strengths and perspectives of both cultures.

We have based Sharing Collective Wisdom on this way of being; that by sharing our collective wisdom we can all grow, live, love and support our loved ones, our families and communities and the land itself which supports us. Many people come to the Central Desert to experience the unique opportunity which being at the centre offers. They stop or pause to share their wisdom and to learn from others. Therefore in the time honoured tradition of walking together hand in hand, this Confest is based on the principals of: together we are strong; evolution and growth is a conscious choice; many hands make light work, and finally, in the words of Swami Sivananda our focus of giving and sharing is with our head, heart and hands.

Please join us in Sharing Collective Wisdom.

Our program is designed to give participants a Central Desert experience. It is specifically planned to be low tech, to highlight the wide blue sky during the day and the brilliant night sky and full moon that this time of year brings. Included in the program will be a range of classes, workshops, and experiences where you can choose what interests you. This is a “get involved opportunity”. One of the key aims of the Confest is to ensure that many opportunities and experiences are taught in such a way as to facilitate you, being able to take the skills, techniques and strategies back into your daily life. Throughout the conference there will be a number of ‘talking circles’ which will ensure time for you to ground and chat with others participants and tease out some of your experiences.

Imagine a beautiful outback setting, lots of colour and laughter, birds singing, perhaps the smell of the campfire or havan smoke. People laughing, sharing, trying out new things, the silence as we all sit, song and dance as we all celebrate.

There is a great negativity we are all facing currently in the world. This Confest will be a time out from that and an opportunity to rejuvenate, refresh, reinvigorate your capacity to be a person full of peace and commitment.

Just as in darkness, a single light dispels darkness, together as light filled people we take time to fill our well and support each other to  continue to shine through the current adversities.
